Oregon's newest emerging cluster

Jim Miller who I am sure will post on here off and on left Oregon for parts unknown. Believed to be in Flordia or Kentucky or some other state that could embrace his ideas more readily. Jim blew into town (Corvallis) in a whirlwind filled with ideas and hopes for a more sustainable life and lifestyle only to find a deaf ear. In fact, Jim may have found a lot of deaf ears. He attempted to educate, correct, pontificate, encourage and create his own perfect solutions for everyone. When they would not listen he didn't waste his time and was off to bigger and better digs to plow more fertile ground. Another activist bites the dust! Sometimes we can't hear the fact that the spinning of our own wheels that make us crazy as is said in an older Eagles song. Take it Easy! It isn't the first time that we have been blinded by the light of someones brilliance. His stardom was so bright that it left little room for other's opinions. Perhaps he did have the answer or answers we will never know as this star has faded. Jim didn't fit the mold of our process oriented, research based sustainability groups. He was running a sprint and we are involved in a marathon. Ah the joys of long distance running. Almost seemed to me like the fable of the race between the hare and the tortise...Jim the Hare! With his hair on fire most of the time, shouting hurry up, hurry up we have no time to waste. To the Oregon tortoise plodding in process saying thoughtfully take it easy now, all pull together and over time we will make a difference. Hmmmm How fast is too fast and how slow is too slow. Maybe, just maybe we can find a healthy balance somewhere inbetween.
